Availability of A449 Bolts
A449 is not a mass-produced, readily available fastener. Because of its broad uses and many applications, it is usually manufactured to order on a per-job basis. The only bolts that are typically available off the shelf are step bolts.
All Thread Rod
All thread rod is the fastest manufactured form of A449 material. It is typically available in 12’ bar lengths in diameters ranging from 1/2″ through 1” in diameter. Larger diameters of all thread rod can be custom manufactured.

Headed Bolts
Portland Bolt carries a large number of headed blanks on the shelf that can be manufactured quickly and efficiently for projects. The blanks range in diameter from 1/2″ through 2” diameter and the maximum length is 36”.

If your project requires longer or larger diameter bolts, those can be custom manufactured. Lead times vary but are typically 5 weeks for plain steel and 6 weeks for hot-dip galvanized.
Type 3 Materials
A449 Type 3 fasteners are not readily available in the marketplace and are typically not able to be manufactured due to a lack of availability of raw materials.
